Summary: When we arrived we loved the beautiful lobby with the Grand Staircase, gorgeous stained glass and lovely columns.
Checkin went smoothly and the front desk lady took us to our room using the elevator that can only be operated by an employee.
At 1st glance our Elite Suite looked fine, very huge! We left our luggage and headed down to the Saddle and Spur Tavern for a cocktail and something to eat. Jessie the bartender/waiter was amazing taking care of everyone and everything.
He made delicious cocktails and we shared a huge burger/fries that were excellent.
THEN!!!
We went to our room to settle in.
1st the tv kept cutting out and changing the cable channels then displaying “error message”.
Next the electric fireplace heater wouldn’t stay on or allow adjustments.
The Bathroom was the Worst!
I turned on the hot water to wash my face. It took forever to warm up and by that time the little sink was almost full to the top and water was going down the sink overflow drain and started leaking all over the floor at the P-Trap! It took forever to drain.
The sink wasn’t even attached to the wall!
Shower wasn’t finished being updated with flaking walls and worn out floor tiles.
VERY dangerous the threshold was missing and both myself and my husband almost tripped during the night to use the bathroom.
Another notable hazard was the bookcase headboards are not even attached to the bed and almost fell on us!
Many more things I could mention but the bottomline is the suite isn’t finished.

Summary: The hotel is a beautiful historic landmark that drew our attention. But sadly, the room was lacking in a number of basic comfort and needs. The junior single room is basically a room with a double bed, and a small extra space in the front of the room with a futon type chaise couch. The bed was not very comfortable, the window AC unit roared loudly throughout the night, but never cooled the front part of the room properly. My friend slept on the futon couch in the front and it was hot, as well as the couch was old and he had springs on his back all night. The ceiling fan clacked loudly and was dusty. It appeared that where the hand soap dispenser was supposed to be by the sink, there was conditioner instead. And they had simply put out a bottle of dial hand soap that was 75% empty to use. The TV also did not work. Overall, it was a great historic site but not a place I’d recommend staying at for 100$/night.
