Easily accessible to roads and Red Feather Lakes Village, where there are three grocery stores, two liquor stores, four nearby restaurants, library, Ace Hardware, post office and fabulous 18 hole golf course. DAY 1 - Suggested itinerary – Orientation and settling in
Arrive in Red Feather Lakes in the afternoon and check into The Cabin in the Woods at 4:00 P.M. After unpacking, explore the property’s forest, gentle rock formations and mountain views. Prepare your dinner with a complete kitchen and grill or dine out at one of the Red Feather Lakes restaurants. Relax in the evenings with the many games provided and star gazing. Satellite television and internet are provided.
DAY 2 - Suggested itinerary – Activities
- Wildlife, Fishing and Picnic Time
Nearby lakes for fishing, bird and wildlife watching and shoreline exploring. Dowdy Lake is one of the most accessible, family-friendly lakes in the area. The trail around the lake is a good choice - scenic and manageable for kids. Bring a picnic lunch, folding chairs (from the cabin) and protective clothing in case the weather changes. West Lake, Parvin Lake and Bellaire Lake are also excellent choices. A Colorado state fishing license is required for adults; three-day licenses are available. Crystal Lakes fishing is available on a daily fee (please advise).
